Rupantaran Foundation
is a non profit organisation formed by a group of youths who have a dream of transforming the society for a better tomorrow.
Rupantaran itself means transformation, a process of positive change. It envisions a discrimination free society where everyone shares mutual respect.
Ideology
If we think how we have been able to access the amenities required for proper upbringing since our childhood, the answer may be obvious to most of us that our parents / guardians provided us the same, but if we see it in a broader perspective, it’s the society which has ensured those amenities to us. It’s the resources provided by the society that made us what we are today.
There are many people in the society to whom the society has not provided enough, to fulfill even the basic amenities required for proper upbringing.
As the society provides us enough resources, we have the responsibility to return and be a part of the transformation to make the society better place to live.
Origin
Rupantaran started its journey in May 2009, initiated by a group of youths who have a dream of transforming the society for a better tomorrow. “Rupantaran” means the process of transformation.
Vision
Rupantaran envisions a discrimination free society where everyone shares mutual respect.
Approach
The majority of Indians is youth and by 2020 the median age of individual in the country will be 29 years, making India the youngest country in the world. We believe that if we ensure that the huge cohort of youth becomes a vibrant, constructive and more aware force then it shapes a more just, equitable and non violent world. We see youths as the “Actors” rather than “Objects” of development. We facilitate the process of perspective building of youth on the social issues and trying to inspire young people for shaping their personal vision and journeys as change makers.
